1. Leslie Graves updates us with the plans for this Saturday's 2019 Women's March on January 19th. The Santa Rosa march is continuing with broad representation of our community in the line-up of speakers and booths at the rally beginning at 10 AM in the Old Courthouse Square, followed by the march at noon. Bring your daughters and granddaughters!

2. Misti Harris,  since March 2107, has been the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Community Engagement Liaison, the first person to hold the office since its creation as part of the Sheriff's Office response to the Sheriff deputy killng of a 13-year old boy, Andy Lopez in October 2013.  Misti gives us an update to the Sheriff Office, now led by the newly elected Sheriff Mark Essick..

About our Guest:  Misti Harris was born and raised in Truckee, California. She moved to Sonoma County in 2001 to attend Sonoma State University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and Planning with a minor in Spanish. She focuses her volunteer efforts at the Food For Thought food bank as a board member and serving clients in English and Spanish. She began her role as the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Community Engagement Liaison in March 2017. Her duties include building community relationships, crisis communications, and providing education about the Sheriff’s Office policies. She connects with the community through face-to-face interactions, media, and social media. Misty’s favorite activities are riding her motorcycle and spending time with her dog.

3. Nancy Vogl and 4. Melissa Willaby talk about this Sunday's annual Celebration of the Legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Santa Rosa High School Auditorium, featuring Presentations of the winning Essays and Posters in the contest in the county schools on Dr. King's legacy.  Both Nancy and Melissa talk of their journey into activism for more inclusive civil rights. 

About our Guest Nancy Vogl was a founding member of the one of the first lesbian bands of 2nd wave feminism, the Berkeley Women's Music Collective, that recorded and toured together from 1973-79. She continued playing with Robin Flower, Barbara Higbie and Holly Near until moving to Sonoma County in 1984. Nancy served as Youth Service Director at the Volunteer Center for 7 years, and Co-Directed Sonoma County's LGBTQQI youth group, Positive Images. She now offers private coaching in addiction recovery, and returned to music with a new CD, opening for friends on March 8th at Freight & Salvage in Berkeley. Her passion is healthy youth development, non-violence and community peace, studying with Dr. Ricky Shereover Marcuse, and James and Grace Boggs. She returned to the MLK committee this year.

About our Guest Melissa Willaby is a native San Franciscan where she attended college the 60s and 70s.  Moving to Santa Rose she retired after 27 years of service. There, she met fellow teacher, Patricia Louise Clark, who encouraged her to join her in promoting the annual Poster Contest for Sonoma County Youth as a part of the Martin Luther King Celebration Committee.
