Before Deciding

When our representatives are making important decisions that impact all of our lives I believe it is important to ask one basic question before making
those decisions,
Is this good for
the children?

Just imagine what our world would be like if that question was asked prior to making decisions about going to war, the environment, education or healthcare.

1Commentary by Elaine B. Holtz on the fate of Roe v. Wade. SCOTUS seems more concerned with controlling women's bodies then for carrying for the children once born. A child dies on average one per hour in the country due to guns. Many children are homeless with their families or going to bed hungry at night. We need to change our priorities as a nation.

----

2 Our guest Gilda Gonzales has led Planned Parenthood Northern California since 2017, which serves 19 counties north of San Francisco. Many women struggling with getting by, as indicated by 81% of the clients being enrolled in Medicaid. Gilda talks about the California Future of Abortion Council (CFAC), which was formed to identify how services would be impacted by the new state laws preventing abortions in their states and possible solutions. The Gutmacher Institute reports that 2021 was the worst year for abortion rights in half a century, with 3000% increase in restrictive laws affecting 1.4 million women. CFAC has come up with a 7-Point Blueprint of recommendations on expanding abortion care to handle the influx of out-of-state women seeking this care, which is openly supported by California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and he has included this in his budget this year. See the Guest Links below for the references.

-  report by Ken Norton, Co-Producer, Women's Spaces
